Ross Allan

Started Working With Dogs: Ross got his first dog at age 12 and started formal training at age 19.

Biggest Dog Training Revelation: Using your own urine in the manner that dogs use theirs! All dogs, small or large, use urine to mark territory and pack status.  To instil pack status (and ultimately respect) in a strong headed dog that is not responding well to training (sounds interesting doesn't it? ...)

Ross's concept of training based on working dog ethics have gained him recognition from dog owners, the law enforcement industry and obedience trailing arenas all over the world. Ross's personal research and experience into behavioral problems is proving invaluable when it comes to solving training problems.

Over 36 years, Ross Allan has performed over 17,673 dog training sessions, trained over 7,817 dogs, mentoring over 3,477 novice and experienced dog handlers and owners, producing 1407 security dogs employed by private security firms, home protection, and country police, and thousands of happy obedient pets.

Some of Ross's credentials include:

  • Professionally trained by the RAAF 1970 and awarded Dux and top dog of number 18 Security Guard/Police Dog Training Course.
  • Awarded top man dog team RAAF 1972 and most junior member to have won this prestigious award.
  • 1974 joined the Queensland Police Service where he served for a period of seventeen years.
  • Commenced boarding and training kennels in 1984 whilst still a serving member of the Police Service.
  • Over a span of thirty two years Ross has personally trained over 3,010 dogs of a variety of breeds in the obedience, protection, tracking and problem areas, as well as training over twice that many dogs with their owners.
